DENIS SIMACHEV

Kartell turned to provide the Mademoiselle chair a brand new glamorous wardrobe fit, designed by Denis Simachëv

Conceived as a chair with a feminine identity, Mademoiselle has been created with unique fabrics or “pieces of wardrobe” suitable for different settings.

The fashion house re-imaginations in the Mademoiselle à la Mode! exhibit range from the elegant and romantic to the witty and eclectic.

Each chair offers a glimpse into the inspirations, styles and expertise of many of the world’s top couturiers, while

simultaneously translating their work to the world of design and further strengthening the relationship between the two creative fields.

Rich, precious and stylish, Simachev's Mademoiselle wears an opulent white or black tone-sur-tone damask fabric. Expressing a true Russian spirit, the chair will become a sure must-have for the very many fans of the fashion designer as well as the Kartell brand.

THE IDEAL WARDROBE

“The ideal wardrobe is the art project of DENIS SIMACHEV for “Architectural Digest” (AD) magazine. The solution to such an important part of interior was quite simple and non-standard — to create folding screens instead of the ordinary wardrobe.

Fashion on folding screens came from West and was forgotten in contemporary inferior. Such functional and mobile object allows to model space of rooms, simply throw there your clothes and hide it from your guests. There is no more need to worry about the mess in your room! You may read the full article about the project in “AD” march 2006 issue.

FURNITURE IN THE POKET

When Denis Simachev is preparing luggage for business trips, he usually takes his furniture with him and leaves his personal office completely empty (which is very convenient for the housemaid).

It sounds surreal yet it's true — Denis managed to create “furniture in the pocket” for his convenience. His chair, sofa and working computer may be easily converted into trunks and transported as luggage. And even such fact doesn't impress as much as the design of the objects based on the contrast of high technologies with Russian baroque taste of the XVIII century.

Furniture in the pocket is ideal and ironic solution for people who always lack time — now they are able to create the atmosphere of luxurious space for work or rest wherever they go.

Just please, don't forget to spend precious time with family!
